Travelling by motorhome is pure freedom: you wake up to new sights every day, you carry your “home” on your back and you decide your route without depending on timetables. But before you set off on your adventure, there are a few things you need to be clear about to make your trip unforgettable... for the right reasons 😉.
1. Learn how to use the motorhome
Before you pick up your motorhome, take a look at the vehicle user guide and write down any questions you may have. This way, on the day of delivery, we will be able to solve them and your first day will be much calmer and you won't go crazy with so much information.
2. Must-have apps for your motorhome trip
With Park4Night o CaraMaps you can locate places to stay overnight at your destination or along your route, whether free or paid. In addition, the app shows you where to refill water, empty grey water and clean the toilet in your motorhome, allowing you to travel in comfort and without surprises.
If you are going to France, have a look at Camping-Car park, you have to register but you can access very interesting motorhome areas and you will be able to book in advance (advisable if you are travelling in high season).
3. Plan your first stop well
For your first night, If you are looking for a comfortable place where you can park without any problems and with enough space. Don't worry about finding the most beautiful spot: after driving and loading the motorhome, it's a long day. Sunrises overlooking the sea can wait; the important thing is to rest and start your adventure calmly.
4. Don't go crazy with luggage
Our rentals include everything you need so you can enjoy your trip without worrying about anything:
- Gas cylinders.
- Levelling shims.
- Water filling hose and adapters.
- 220v power cable (for plugging into electricity in a campsite or AC area).
- Cleaning kit.
- Toilet tablets.
- Smart TV.
- Awning.
- Bicycle racks.
- Kitchen utensils: frying pans, casseroles, plates, glasses, cutlery, etc.
- Italian coffee maker.
- Summer or winter sheets (depending on the season).
- Pillows.
- Travel hairdryer.
- Outdoor table and chairs.
4. Check your documentation
Before you come to collect the motorhome, make sure you bring everything you need: your ID card and your driving licence, and check that both are in force. Please note that drivers must have held their driving licence for at least two years and be aged 25 or over.
Don't forget that the deposit is paid by credit or debit card when you pick up the vehicle. The remaining amount of the rental can be paid by bank transfer (48 hours before departure), in cash or also by credit card, whichever is more convenient for you.
5. Flexible routes: the key to motorhome travel
Travelling by motorhome is a mixture of planning and freedom. For starters, the ideal is to be clear about the places you really want to visit, but without filling every hour of the day. Leave room for improvisation: discover unexpected towns, enjoy landscapes that weren't on your map and make spontaneous stops that will become unforgettable memories.
Even you can let the sun guide your route, changing your plans at the last minute to go where the sun shines and enjoy the good weather. Remember: it's not about crossing off destinations, it's about enjoying the journey. A flexible route allows you to relax and make the most of the experience of travelling on wheels.

FAQs
For rentals of more than 7 days the mileage is unlimited.
For rentals of less than 7 days, 200 kilometres per day are included in the price and a supplement of €0.25 will be charged for each extra kilometre.
For example: For a 3-day rental, a total of 600 kilometres can be driven. If the customer drives 630 kilometres, he will be charged 30 x 0.25 = 7.50€.
At Autocaravanas Otsoa, we offer flexible working hours drop-off and pick-up times to suit the needs of each traveller.
On the day of delivery you can pick up your motorhome from 9.30 am. If the vehicle is available and our team can manage it, we offer the possibility of making the delivery the day before the start of the rental at 19:00h, so that you can start your trip more calmly and make the most of your getaway.
A few days before the start of your hire, we’ll get in touch to confirm the time and arrange to meet you. At the time of handover, we’ll explain how the vehicle works, fill in the contract and collect the remaining rental fee and the €700 deposit (please note that the deposit must be paid by card).
The return of the vehicle has to be before 20h.
